From No Show to NOW SHOW

St. Joost School of Art & Design proudly presents the 2020 Graduation Shows NOW SHOW and INSIDE OUT. From October 7-16 the exceptional work of our recent bachelor’s degree graduates can be seen digitally via nowshow.nl and at various venues in Breda and `s-Hertogenbosch.  From October 17-25 graduates from the master’s degree programmes will be presenting their work at  INSIDE OUT digitally via thecurrent.is and during the Dutch Design Week. Be surprised, amazed and inspired by a varied programme of exhibitions and events, online and at various locations. Will we see you there?

‘It is great to see the pride and passion among the recent graduates of our bachelor’s and master’s degree programme. We first thought that a Graduation Show would not be possible due to the coronavirus pandemic. Our students show that they can make the difference thanks to their creativity and resilience. We were able to get online and make the transition from a NO SHOW to a NOW SHOW in no time at all. Especially now there is a great need for people who are able to assess, define, and examine things from another perspective. This is what the Extraordinary class of 2020 will be demonstrating online and at various physical locations. The impressive programme is organized in close collaboration with our cultural partners, resulting in an impressive platform for our graduates in today’s world.’

NOW SHOW: October 7-16

St.Joost School of Art & Design will be showing the work of over 180 students, each of whom graduated in the past months, in a unique edition of the annual Graduation Show. Join us and meet the artists and designers of the future online or see them in person at one of the (live) events. You can already get a sneak preview of the platform and the detailed programme from October 1 onwards via . Also, you are cordially invited to join our online opening on October 7 at 8PM.

NOW SHOW is organised in close collaboration with Backer en Rueb, BredaPhoto, Citymarketing Breda, Galerie Mieke van Schaijk, Gemeente Breda, Gemeente ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Graphic Matters, HeyHeydeHaas, (Im)possible bodies, JBZ (Jeroen Bosch Ziekenhuis), Koetshuis (Noord-Brabants Museum), Kunstruimte de Melkfabriek, Kunstvitrines op Station Breda, MotMot | Electron, De Nieuwe Kunstruimte, Nieuwe Veste, Playgrounds, SDK, Sizzer, Social Label, Stedelijk Museum Breda, Stokvishallen, Theater Artemis, Van GoghHuis, Verkadefabriek, Werkwarenhuis, Willem Twee Kunstruimte.

INSIDE OUT: October 17-25
The graduates from the Master Institute of Visual Cultures will present their research and work via a special digital platform thecurrent.is from October 27-25. For the first time in the history of the academy, the master graduates bring the graduation show virtually to you, INSIDE OUT. The digital exhibition shows a diversity of work, such as digital sculptures, videos, artists’ books, live stream performances, real-time interactions and much more. At the same time a selection of work will be presented during the Dutch Design Week (DDW) as part of The New Intimacy. We look forward to seeing you online or at DDW from October 17-25.
