St. Joost School of Art & Design proudly presents the 2020 Graduation Shows NOW SHOW. Join us for the online opening on October 7, from 20.00h-21.30h featuring a sneak peak of work by the graduates, talks about graduating in a period where uncertainty and change are key and how this affects the student community, talks with alumni about the impact of times on their professional practise, and there will be festive moments such as the award ceremony of the St. Joostpenning and the Lucasprijs and aftermovies of the Atelierprijs, Jheronimus Atelierprijs and the Van Gogh AiR.
‘It is great to see the pride and passion among the recent graduates of our bachelor’s and master’s degree programme. We first thought that a Graduation Show would not be possible due to the coronavirus pandemic. Our students show that they can make the difference thanks to their creativity and resilience. We were able to get online and make the transition from a NO SHOW to a NOW SHOW in no time at all. Especially now there is a great need for people who are able to assess, define and examine things from another perspective. This is what the Extraordinary class of 2020 will be demonstrating online and at various physical locations. The impressive programme is organised in close collaboration with our cultural partners, resulting in an impressive platform for our graduates in today’s world.’
