ONLINE EVENT

For this online event St. Joost School of Art & Design and BredaPhoto join forces. We will start the afternoon with an impression of the graduation work of the department Photography, Film & the Digital. Fleur van Muiswinkel director of BredaPhoto will, later on, join the conversation to talk about the best of times, the worst of times. Together with the newly graduated we will talk about their work, how the future will look like especially for young makers and the perspective they have after graduation. Storytelling is an important value for the newly graduates as well as BredaPhoto. How do we tell stories nowadays? And how important is a platform for young makers and vice versa? The afternoon will be moderated by Marc Prüst.

Marc Prüst is a visual story editor and photography curator. He has developed a method for creating photographic projects to help photographers develop their concepts, prepare the shoots and edit their work. Together with photographers he produces their visual stories in a variety of formats: books, exhibitions, or other projects. Also, he teaches and organizes workshops and masterclasses, lectures and writes about photography. Marc Prüst currently works closely with the Forhanna Foundation in creating a series of webinars on visual storytelling.

Fleur van Muiswinkel was trained as an art historian and curator and obtained her two Masters at Goldsmiths University in London (UK) and the VU University in Amsterdam (with a minor in photography). In recent years she was responsible as artistic coordinator for the Contour Biennale in Mechelen (BE) where she gained a lot of experience in leading a festival like BredaPhoto Festival. During that time, she established an international network between four biennials spread across Europe. Besides director of BredaPhoto, Van Muiswinkel is a board member at Why Not, a platform for contemporary dance in Amsterdam.
