Bente will show her work ‘An algorithms’ introduction in the white cube’. We live in a hectic world where our attention switches from one thing to another in a short period of time. Trance machine opens some space to take time for one thing, and to create more emotional and physical depth. With the art world as the battleground, this project shows that algorithms are as subjective as our own human gut-feeling.

‘How to Build a Mountain’ is a visual research on how our perception of the mountain landscape has changed through innovations in photography, and with this, our affinity to the mountains itself. The research is on how humans changed the perception of the sublime mountain landscape through photography. Once was the mountain a sacred and sublime place, now mankind and the traces it has left behind are in-erasable. How did it come to this? What role did photography play in this change? What is in store for the future? Will mankind be able to recreate the mountain’s sublimity, or do the mountains reclaim what we took from them?
