Gender is not who you are, rather it is what you do; it is similar to a dramatic performance.

Our world is divided into a strict dichotomy. You are either a man or a woman. Nail polish and dolls are for women and shouting ‘pussy’ and motocross are for men. We want to appear representative and therefore play the role of ‘woman or ‘man’. It is a construction that we, as a society, have created and maintain ourselves. An important distinction we often forget to make is that there is a difference between sex and gender. By gender we mean your biological characteristics and reproductive organs. Gender refers to the cultural construction. Many people are only aware of two roles, but in reality there is much more. It doesn’t have to be a choice

Choosing a character for me comes over a lot with choosing a DRAG character. Normally my DRAG is an extreme stereotype of femininity. I gave myself the challenge to change that role as well.
