Natural Separation

We are all part of nature. Some people are more connected to nature than others, but everyone on Earth is inevitably part of one large ecosystem. However, in our current society, a separation can be felt between ourselves and nature. The installation ‘Natural Separation’ should be a beginning to narrow this gap.

The installation produces sound to the rhythm of nature, the wind. That’s nature reaching out to us. You can hear the special harmonic melodies at various nature reserves where the artwork is placed.

Each installation is connected to a glass object representing the specific environment where it originates. For example, a piece of wood. The glass objects are placed inside at various locations, representing a connection between nature and humans. They are digitally linked, and the glass object indicates whether there is enough wind at the location to hear the sound.
