Mulattin Famiri

I grew up between two cultures, the Dutch and the Surinamese. I often hear stereotyping remarks that I think are extremely outdated and conservative. Both sides in my family have different opinions when it comes to certain topics. That is why I started to wonder what my family’s views are on life, identity and social issues. The end result of this project will be in the form of a book. It will consist of portraits of my diverse family, supported by quotes, showing the fault line and the diversity within my ‘famiri’.
